Karachi residents felt an earthquake of 4.7 magnitude of magnitude on Monday, while the first day of Eidul Fitr was observed.
According to the Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD), the earthquake was recorded 75 kilometers north of Karachi at 4:10 pm and had a depth of 19 km.

The United States Geological Service (USGS) said on its website that the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.6, instead of a magnitude of 4.7 informed by the PMD.
The USGS said that the center of Quake was located 65 km from Este-Sign to Uthal in Baluchistan and had a depth of 10 km.
The earthquake hit at 4:10 pm, according to the USGS too.
In June of last year, an earthquake of 3.2 magnitude was also felt in several parts of the city.
It was the third earthquake that felt in the metropolis for a period of a few weeks.
In May 2024, an earthquake of 2.3 had shaken parts of the metropolis, including the city of Gadap, Katohr and the areas of the Malir district, with its epicenter 38 kilometers from the northeast of Malir at a depth of 84 km.
In April of last year, a low magnitude earthquake had also shaken the Malir de Karachi district and the seismic monitoring center said that its magnitude was 3.2 on the Richter scale.
