Nueva Delhi: an EID celebration became a tragedy for a family in Delhi after they lost their two -year -old daughter in a car accident conducted by the adolescent son of a neighbor in the Paharganj area.
The authorities have arrested the vehicle owner, Pankaj Agawal, and his son, who was behind the wheel.
In a video, which is distributed online, a small child is seen sitting on the ground, involved in the game, when a car is approaching from the opposite direction. The driver seems hesitant but advances, ultimately, crosses the child.
When witnessing the shocking incident, the neighbors immediately rushed to the scene and quickly took the child under the vehicle.
The fatal accident took place in Ram Nagar, Pahaganj, around 6.15 pm on Sunday, with all the incident recorded by surveillance cameras.
CCTV images revealed that the vehicle was approaching at a slow pace before stopping briefly. Subsequently, when the car advanced, the child was caught under the left front wheel.
Local residents immediately tried to help the young victim and transported her to a nearby medical center, where medical staff declared him deceased.
