NEW DELHI: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai On Tuesday they lifted the coffins of DRG jawans who lost their lives in an improvised explosive device explosion in Bijapur.
Paying tributes to the fallen soldiers, CM Sai claimed that the attack was carried out because “Naxalites are nervous”. The CM also said that sacrifice of soldiers “it will not go in vain.”
“The Naxalites are shocked to have carried out this cowardly act. 8 DRG jawans and Bastar fighters lost their lives in the IED blast. I pay tribute to the immortal soldiers…I pay tribute to the civilian driver who also lost his life in this incident… Their sacrifice will not be in vain. They have laid down their lives for the sake of Chhattisgarh,” Sai told news agency ANI.
On Monday, Naxals detonated an improvised explosive device blast against one of the police vehicles, following which eight security personnel and the driver of the vehicle were killed in bijapur district of Bastar division at around 2.30 pm on the Kutru-Bedre route.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed condolences over the death of eight security personnel and driver and promised to end Naxalism in India by March 2026, saying “the sacrifice of our soldiers It will not be in vain.”
“I am deeply saddened by the news of the loss of DRG soldiers in an IED explosion in Bijapur (Chhattisgarh). I extend my deepest condolences to the families of the brave soldiers. It is impossible to express this pain in words, but “I assure you that the sacrifice of our soldiers will not be in vain. We will end Naxalism in the land of India by March 2026,” he said in a post on X.
After the attack, Chhattisgarh MP CM Arun Sao said, “Information about a cowardly attack by Naxalites has reached from Bijapur. I express my condolences to the jawans… this is a cowardly action… now that the jawans are working to eliminate the naxal. they have done it out of desperation and disappointment. This sacrifice of the jawans will not be in vain.
