Lahore: In a shocking incident on Sunday, one of the three tigers in Jallo Park here left his enclosure after an employee supposedly opened his door deliberately.
Fortunately, the beast was sedated by the staff and returned to the enclosure without anyone being damaged.
According to Park officials, they were informed by an employee, Sharif Masih, around 9 in the morning, that a white Bengal tiger called ‘Rosha’ had escaped his enclosure and was wandering around the park. Rosha was taken to the park in 2022.
The worried staff immediately hastened to the place and found the beast out of their enclosure, while their door left Jar.
The beast was sedated later, he returned to the enclosure
The staff cordoned off the park area where the big cat was wandering and reassured the beast with sedative shots with a special gun.
After the Tigre fell unconscious under the effect of the sedatives, he was transferred back to his enclave.
Later, the Tigre received another injection by veterinarians to relive his conscience.
According to veterinarians, the tiger has recovered conscious and is quite good after the reversal of sedation.
According to official sources, an initial investigation revealed that Sharif Masih, which had the duty to feed the tigers, had intentionally opened the door of the enclosure, allowing the beast to come out.
Although the reason for this act was not clear until now, it was surely destined to create panic among the visitors of the park, the sources say.
They said that Tigre’s enclave keys were with Masih.
According to a spokesman for the Wildlife Department, Masih was immediately arrested by the Police to obtain more interrogations and a case of terrorism against him was being registered.
He said that taking into account the incident, which could have tragic consequences, the Department of Wildlife has formed a three -member committee comprising the director of the Lahore Zoo,
The deputy director of Wildlife Lahore and a veterinary officer of Safari Park, to investigate the matter within 12 hours and submit a report.
Punjab Wildlife Ups praised the team that acted immediately to reassure the tiger and returned him back to his cage without any causality.
