5 pilgrims killed, 35 hurt as bus falls into Gujarat gorge | India News


Dang: Five people were killed and another 35 wounds when a private bus transported pilgrims from Madhya Pradesh fell into a deep throat in the Domingo Domingo de Gujarat, police said. Among the injured people, 17 were seriously injured, they said, and added that the victims were on a trip to religious places in several states of the country.
The accident occurred around 4.15 in the morning when the bus driver lost control over the wheels near Saputara, a hill station, said Sp Sg Patil. He said the bus, which transported 48 pilgrims, broke the clash barrier and immersed himself to 35 feet in the gorge.
“Five people died on the spot, and another 17 suffered serious injuries and have been taken to a civil hospital in Ahawa. Some others have suffered minor injuries. The rescue operation is almost over,” said the official. The bus driver was among the deceased, including three men and two women, according to the police.
Taking X, the MP CM Mohan Yadav expressed its condolences and announced the assistance of RS 4 Lakh to the families of the deceased, RS 1 Lakh to the critical wounded and 50,000 rs to other injured in the accident. PTI
