The death of the Los Angeles television news presenter, Chaunch Glover, last year was accidental, announced the County Forensic Doctor’s office.
Glover, a news presenter in Kcal, died of “acute poisoning” of methamphetamine and chloroethane, said the Los Angeles County forensic office in a statement, noting that both the cause and the form of death were accidental.
Chloroethane is a “colorless gas at temperature and ambient pressure” that is used to numb the skin before medical procedures and also has uses in the manufacture of several commercial products, according to centers for disease control and prevention. Chloroethane is also used as a recreational drug.
Glover, 39, died unexpectedly in November. He was found unanswered at his home on November 5 and was declared dead at 12:40 am, said the office of the Forensic Doctor.
His family announced the news in a statement to Kcal at that time, writing: “He was more than a son and brother: it was a lighthouse of light in our lives and a true hero for his community.”
In Kcal, Glover co-called the news of the 5 and 11 pm with Pat Harvey and the news of the 8 and 10 pm with Suzie Suh. He joined the anchor team in October 2023.
Before his period in Kcal, Glover was the first black main anchor for Ktrk in Houston, where he was in the air for eight years, according to Kcal.
He also founded the Chaunch Glover project, a tutoring program created to help develop “adolescents in the city in adolescents in honest and successful gentlemen,” says its website.
The full report of the forensic doctor must be ready by the end of March, the office said.
