Srinagar: mysterious deaths of two Gujjar tribal brothers, whose bodies were recovered recently separated after a month of disappearance, shook the J&K assembly on Monday.
Opposition legislators and those of the National Government Conference (NC), many banners that wave, sought an investigation into “suspicious deaths.” Unlike other states, the North Carolina government, led by Omar Abdullah, does not control the J&K police, which is under Lieutenant Governor (LG) designated by the center, brook Sinha in the territory of the Union.
The MLA also pressed for the action against the police for allegedly overcoming the mourning women after the second body was found in a condition broken on Sunday in a river in J & K’s Kulgam district. The other had been found near March 13.
Showkat Ahmad Bajad and his brother Riyaz had been missing since February 13. There is still no trace of Mukhtar Ahmad Awan Village, a relative of the brothers who had accompanied them to a wedding in the Mir Bazar area of the same district on the day that the three disappeared. The three worked in a brick oven.
“It seems part of the employer,” said the legislator of the Popular Democratic Party (PDP) Waheed Parra on Monday. He alleged several of those inexplicable deaths in J&K in recent months within the nomadic community of Gujjar. Parra cited the suicide of another young man after an alleged police torture in Katua last month, as well as the last deaths in Kulgam, saying that everything should probe as they were linked to a specific community.
NC Mlas Nazir Gurazi and Qaísar Jamsheed lonely expressed concern about the situation in J & K deteriorating to a point where people simply disappeared and their bodies were found days and weeks later. Deputy CM Surinder Choudhary of NC pressed for a fair investigation into Kulgam’s deaths.
On Monday, local authorities did not allow PDP MUFTI to visit Kulgam. The PDP member, Talib Hussain, who was in the place when Showkat’s body was found on Sunday, accused the police of the bastons loading when they questioned how the investigators had reached suicide as the cause of death.
Back in the Assembly, Sajad Lone, MLA of the Popular Conference of Handwara, marked the alleged police atrocities, calling images of a police officer kicking relatives of the “completely disdained deceased brothers. “All action stinks from contempt within the minds of those who are supposed to protect the masses. The J&K police said they had ordered an investigation into the officer’s conduct.
The researchers said the brothers may have died for suicide. This was based on conclusions of a forensic expert, Dr. Azia Manzoor Bhat, that Riyaz’s body indicated that he had drowned and the case “does not seem of a homicidal nature.”
On February 6, a week before the Kulgam brothers disappeared, Tribal Makhan Din, 25, died for suicide claiming torture by the police in the Kathua district. He recorded a video before his death claiming that the police forced him to confess the links with militants.
