Nueva Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in France on Monday night for a two -day visit, where he was well received by French president Emmanuel Macron in the Elysee Palace For a formal dinner, before co -chairing the IA summit in Paris.
During dinner, Prime Minister Modi also met Vice President JD Vance, who is in France for the Summit of AI, and congratulated him for his electoral victory.
This was Prime Minister’s first meeting with JD Vance under the new Trump administration and his initial commitment to the main leadership. The exchange between the two leaders took place outside the state banquet, a few days before the scheduled visit of Prime Minister Modi to Washington.

The Prime Minister will cover AI’s action summit with the French president, gathering global leaders and executives of the technology industry to explore innovations of AI for the general public good.

The prime minister’s office confirmed that Prime Minister Modi and Macron will launch the inaugural consulate of India in Marseille, France. They will also visit the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor Installation (iter), where India participates with France and other nations in the development of nuclear energy solutions for world advantage.
This marks the sixth visit of Prime Minister Modi to France, according to officials.
After concluding his commitments in France, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to the United States from February 12 to 13 by invitation from President Donald Trump.
This will be the first meeting between the two leaders after Trump assumed the position for his second term, making the prime minister the fourth world leader to visit the United States after the inauguration of Trump.

Prime Minister Modi visited the United States in June 2017, while Trump was organized for a state visit to India in February 2020.
The two leaders have also spoken twice by telephone since November 2024, as of November 6, 2024 and January 27, 2025.
In an early commitment to the new administration of the United States, the Minister of External Affairs, S. Jaishankar, represented Prime Minister Modi at the inauguration of Trump.
