Rep. Nancy Mace details accusations of rape and sexual abuse in a speech from the House floor

Washington-the representative Nancy Mace, RS.C., went to the floor of the house on Monday night to accuse four men, including her ex-girlfriend, rape, sexual trafficking and other sexual crimes against her and other female victims, which called “some of the most atrocious crimes against imaginable women.”

Mace also accused the Attorney General of the South Carolina, Alan Wilson, a potential republican rival for governor in 2026, not to prosecute men later, she said, she presented evidence of her office.

Mace, who is in his third term, made the accusations during a speech of more than 50 minutes attended by several Republican colleagues, his mother and a dozen other party.

“I get up today to call the cowards who think they can take advantage of women and get their way. Today I’m going to burn earth. So let the bridges that burn tonight come forward, ”he said in the speech of his floor.

“We are talking about rape, non -consensual photos, non -consensual videos of women and children minors and the calculated and premeditated exploitation of women and girls in my district,” Mace continued.

The four men who Mace appointed on the floor of the house vehemently denied the accusations of NBC News.

The former Mace fiance, Patrick Bryant, a Charleston software entrepreneur, said in a statement: “Categorically deo these accusations. I take this matter seriously and I will cooperate fully with the legal processes necessary to eliminate my name. ”

It is widely expected that Mace jumps to race 2026 for the governor, and one of his possible rivals is Wilson, the attorney general, who is the son of the representative Joe Wilson, RS.C.

In her speech, Mace accused Alan Wilson of delaying an investigation into accusations after delivering graphic videos, photos and other evidence of the men who raped her and others, as well as photographs of minor girls, last year.

Many of the shared details Mace were extremely graphic. She said that in November 2023, her former fiance gave her phone access. In this regard, he said, he discovered videos of “incapacitated” women who were raped. To her surprise, one of them was her, she said.

“I learned the volume to listen if there was audio. I heard my voice. I acted the video. And that woman was me, ”said Mace. “My whole body was paralyzed and I couldn’t move. Were my feet on the floor? I was breathing? I have no idea.”

When he delivered the evidence, Mace said, Wilson’s office told him to investigate it.

“The women who present themselves in their system are treated as criminals under their leadership, in their system and in their watch. Attorney General Alan Wilson, you know, there were deliberate delays in an investigation in what I delivered, ”Mace said. “Two hundred twenty -eight days late. And you know this, 228 days late. That is seven months, two weeks and four days of delay to investigate. Once again, today, you are kicking the can along the way as you always do. ”

Mace made his comments during the “general speeches”, a time when any legislator can go to the floor of the house and talk about any subject. Chamber rules prohibit legislators from challenging other members of Congress in speeches, but say nothing about other citizens.

Wilson’s office issued a long statement on Monday night calling Mace’s accusations that the office did not act “categorically false.”

“EM. MACE does not understand or are wrongly characterizing the role of the Attorney General. At this time, our office has not received any report or request for assistance from any agency to apply the law or prosecution with respect to these matters. In addition, the Attorney General and the members of his office have had no role or knowledge of these accusations until his public statements, “said Wilson’s office.

The office statement added that Mace and the Attorney General have attended “multiple events together in the last six months” and that Mace has Wilson’s cell phone number, but has never spoken about the affairs. The office said it would always lead citizens who have evidence of crimes to their local law agencies, which would be responsible for investigations.

“It is clear that Attorney General Alan Wilson has built his career in the protection of the most vulnerable of our State; Any statement of the opposite is blatantly false and politically motivated, ”said his office.

As a state legislator in 2019, during a controversial debate on a prohibition of abortion proposed in South Carolina, Mace pressed for an exception for rape and incest and said publicly for the first time that he had been a victim of rape when he was only 16 old years old.
