Kurram has been harassed by intermittent outbreaks of violence among tribes that have been disputes for decades. More recently, at least 130 lives were lost in subsequent attacks and confrontations since November, before a high fire agreement was negotiated, won with strength on January 1. However, attacks against government convoys and help this month have jeopardized the fragile peace.
The high fire suffered another important setback when the assistant commissioner (income) Saeed Manan, who mediated to stop fresh clashes between the sides at war, was shot in the stomach and injured along with two others in a separate shot incident in The Bushehra area of the Restive. District yesterday.
Manan underwent surgery at the DHQ hospital and was then transferred to Peshawar through the helicopter.
On January 4, an attack in the Bagan area injured the attached commissioner Javedullah Mehsud and another six. In a January 16 attack against a convoy in the same area, two security officials were martyred and another five injured. The retaliation action for security forces left six dead attackers and 10 injured.
In response, the authorities launched an “limited anti -terrorism operation” in Lower Kurram on January 19, which used guning helicopters and concluded after four days.
