The former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, called India on Saturday for his “excuses” to avoid any dialogue with Pakistan to solve his pending problems after recent tensions between the two countries.
Pakistan has launched a wide -based commitment campaign in the United States to present its perspective on the recent peak in tensions with India, and counteract the growing presence of new lobbying of New Delhi there. As part of its global reach, the team will also visit London and Brussels. The delegation includes former foreign ministers Bilawal, Hina Rabbani Khar and Khurram Dastgir; Sherry Rehman, Musadik Malik, Faisal Sabzwari and Bushra Anjum Butt; Together with the superior envoys Jalil Abbas Jilani and Tehmina Janjua.
Going to a press conference in Washington after concluding commitments with legislators and groups of American experts, the president of the PPP said that Pakistan’s civil and military leadership was on the same page against terrorism and believed it was interest in the region to establish with India. “It is India who has been fleeing the calls for an investigation and it has been India who has been fleeing the efforts for dialogue. I think that is perhaps the most unfortunate excuse for not having a dialogue at this time,” he added.
Bilawal offered to organize a dialogue with military or political leadership if India wanted.
“I think that the true way to follow is that India and Pakistan participate in a dialogue to establish peace. Whatever the excuse you want to do sometimes, it is this civil military excuse, sometimes this geopolitical excuse is, sometimes this ‘Oh, all Muslims are terrorist excuse, so we are not going to talk to Pakistan’ [tiresome]. You cannot be two nuclear armed neighbors with a conflict threshold as low and absolutely any mechanism for the resolution of disputes. “
Bilawal said that India did not want mediation from the United States or the United Nations or any interactional actor and that she did not even want to commit directly to Pakistan, noting that this did not make a rational sense.
“It is our interest to convince India to undo the decision that does not serve their purposes and come to the table and speak.”
