“At this time, today, it is difficult to imagine another celebration. We are afflicted, people are in shock, people are in the hospital, families are still being notified, people are trying to communicate with their loved ones with those who have not been in contact.
“But I know that this attack will not prevent us from gathering and celebrating culture, celebrating the people of Vancouver and British Columbia,” he said, standing next to Elmore with a Canada-Fillipins flag pin in their flap.
“We will work with the city, we will work with the police to ensure that the events have the systems to keep the safe people while they celebrate. And, as a community, we will leave this stronger.”
