New Delhi: el Government of Uttar PradeshDirected by CM Yogi Adityanath on Saturday issued strict directives to close the illegal slaughterhouse and enforce a prohibition of meat sales within a radius of 500 meters of religious sites during Navratri.
Amrit Abhijat, main secretary of the Urban Development Department, has instructed all district magistrates, police commissioners and municipal commissioners to guarantee strict compliance with the order.
In addition, a complete prohibition of animal killing and meat sales throughout the State on April 6, 2025 will be applied, in observance of RAM Navami.
The Government warned about a strict action against offenders under the law of the UP Municipal Corporation, 1959, and Food Security Laws of 2006 and 2011.
Meanwhile, CM Yogi has announced great celebrations for Navami Ram ChaitraAn important Hindu festival. He has ordered officials to organize 24 hours Akhand Paath (continuous recitation) of Shri Ramcharitmanos in temples from all the districts of Uttar Pradesh.

The directives are part of the state government’s efforts to regulate meat sales and maintain religious feelings while guaranteeing compliance with existing laws.
