Straying Sariska tiger found in kitchen | India News

Three days after the two-year-old male tiger ST-2402 deviated from Sariska Tiger Reserve (STR), forest authorities managed to tranquilize and rescue him on Friday. The young tiger was found hiding in the kitchen of a house in Chilki Ka Bas village in Alwar district while villagers locked themselves inside their houses out of fear. On being informed, the rangers rushed to the spot, released the animal and transported it to an enclosure in Sariska’s Karna Ka Bas forest, STR DFO Abhimanyu Saran said. ST-2402 had left Akbar Range of STR at Alwar and returned to the outskirts of the district via Karanpura village, reaching Chilki Ka Bas on Friday morning. The tiger had earlier been spotted in Mahu Khurd village of Dausa district, where it injured three people. Forest teams from Sariska and Bandikui had chased the tiger for 24 hours since Wednesday, but in vain. On Wednesday, ST-2402 damaged the windshield of the forestry team’s vehicle before hiding in the mustard fields.
