The Provincial Government announced Thursday approaching the Superior Court of Sindh (SHC) against the alleged irregularities made by a judge of the Anti -Terror Court (ATC) in the case of murder of Mustafa Amir.
Amir, a 23 -year -old, was kidnapped and allegedly killed by his friends in the Karachi Defense Housing Authority (DHA) on January 6. According to the police, the friends of the young people put their body in the trunk of their car and set it on the area of the center of Baluchistan. Earlier this month, the police arrested Armaghan for hurting the police in an attempt to resist their arrest in relation to the case of kidnapping of Amir. Another suspect, Armaghan’s friend, Sheraz, also known as Shavez Bukhari, was sent in police custody by an ATC last week.
The Interim Attorney General of Sindh, Muntazir Mehdi, had submitted requests for review at the SHC, challenging the Atc orders that denied the physical custody of the Armaghan Police and sent it to judicial prison. Another application was also filed against an ATC order on the suspect’s father against a raid in his residence.
Armaghan was sent in police custody after Tuesday’s SHC set aside an contested order from an Administrative Judge of ATC, who had previously sent the suspect to prison in judicial prison.
In a statement issued today, the Interior Minister of Sindh, Ziaul Hasan Lanjar, said the ATC judge had carried out “irregularities” in relation to the case. “We are sending a letter to the president of the Supreme Court of SHC about this,” he added.
He said that “rumors and stories manufactured” were also distributed on the case.
“Legal procedures can begin under pec over invented rumors and narratives,” warned the Minister of the Interior. He also promised to take action against the police who committed “negligence” during the investigation of the case and other matters.
He addressed the police to carry out an investigation into all aspects of the case for merit and in the most impartial way.
“We have maintained a strict eye on the case and its investigation,” said Lanjar, adding that the culprits would be taken to the task regardless of their influence.
The statement added that the inspector of the Police of the Crime Investigation Agency also informed the Minister of the Interior on the investigation, saying that Lanjar gave orders of the early resolution of the case.
He said that he had immediately realized the incident as it happened.
