Bengaluru: the deputy of southern Bengaluru, Tejasvi Surya, on Thursday praised the defense PSU Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) and called his HTT-40, in which he flew an exit in Aero India, a symbol of self-sufficiency and the technological skill of India. HTT-40 it’s a indigenous.
“Flying the HTT-40 was an incredible experience. This plane is a testimony of excellence in India engineering and a brilliant example of how, with adequate politics and support, our scientists and engineers can achieve anything, ”he said.
When qualifying the HTT-40, the pride of India and Bangalore, he said that it is a brilliant example of what the country can achieve with the right leadership and unwavering support for our scientific institutions. Taking the UPA government, Surya said that HTT-40 represents the trip of India from the scandal to self-sufficiency, from foreign dependence to Atmanirbharta.
“… In 2012, under the UPA, India acquired a Swiss Pilatus coach plane through a 3,000 million rupee agreement. However, the acquisition process was plagued with irregularities, which led to a CBI investigation in 2019, which revealed the participation of intermediaries in the agreement. Consequently, Pilatus was on the blacklist, leaving India in the urgent need of an indigenous training plane, ”said Surya.
The indigenous coach program, which initially faced setbacks, won impulse in 2014 under the guidance of the administration of Prime Minister Modi and the then Minister of Defense Manohar Parrikar, said, added that Hal successfully developed the plane.
The HTT-40 presents a Turbo-Proprop engine of four sticks, glass booth and advanced security systems that include a zero zero expulsion seat.
“This achievement is dedicated to the deceased Manhar Parrikar, whose vision for defense self -sufficiency was instrumental in reliving the indigenous coach program. The HTT-40 was inaugurated by him and today, it is a symbol of the transformation of India into defense manufacturing, “Surya said.
The success of HTT-40 would not have been possible without the relentless efforts of the main designers of Hal, Suma Prakash and Ramanand, along with a whole team of engineers, scientists and workers.
With HAL now producing low -performance and high -performance combat planes, several nations, particularly from the global south, show interest in acquiring combat planes made in India, Surya said.
Surya is the second politician to fly on a plane in this edition of the show. On Tuesday, the Minister of Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu, flew in Hindustan Jet Trainer (HJT-36) of Hal (HJT-36) that was called ‘Yashas’. The plane was piloted by a Hal test pilot.
