Opposition alliance not to attend today’s key meeting on security ‘without Imran’ – Pakistan

The Tehreek Tahaffuz-Ayeen Pakistan opposition alliance (TTAP) announced on Tuesday that he had not decided not to participate in the high-level national intimidation of today about the contribution in the house of Parliament in the absence of former Prime Minister Imran Khan imprisoned.

The PTI had said yesterday that it would attend the security discussion, but sought a meeting with its imprisoned founder Imran before the meeting. When joining his demand, the head of TTAP, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, said today: “The founder of PTI must also be invited to such a meeting and without it, no meeting will be important.”

During the joint press conference of the opposition held at KP House in Islamabad, Achakzai, also the head of the Awami Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami (PKMAP) party, said that representatives of all political parties must be invited to any meeting on national security.

Achakzai was flanked by the secretary general of PTI Salman Akram Raja, Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen (MWM) Chief Senator Raja Nasir Abbas and Sunni Ittehad Council (sic) MNA Sahibzada Hamid Raza.

“The terrible circumstances of Pakistan require a joint session of Parliament. [However]Everyone should have the opportunity to speak in the joint session, ”said Achakzai.

The head of the PKMAP also said that the Superintendent of the Adiala prison of Rawalpindi, where Imran is imprisoned, does not allow PTI or other AMN leaders to meet the former private.

“If no one is allowed to know him, it must be announced that the founder of PTI is a dangerous man who is not allowed to know [anyone]”, Joked the head of PKMAP.

“If we go to this meeting, then they will say that such and such people disagree,” he added, apparently referring to government leaders who highlight divisions within the opposition.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the head of the Army personnel, the general also, attend security information. The meeting was expected to begin at 11 am, according to the State Pakistan radio.

The members of the Permanent Committees of Defense and Foreign Affairs of the National Assembly, the members of the Federal Cabinet, the main ministers of the four provinces and the leaders of all parliamentary parties or their representatives attend the group.

He said that the PTI has refused to participate in the meeting, adding that the decision was taken at a meeting of the political committee of the party yesterday.

“We have to fix this country and put an end to fascism,” he added.

Initially, the PTI had decided to attend the security discussion, with spokesman Sheikh Waqqas Akram saying that his party would give his opinion at the meeting. Na’s opposition leader, Omar Ayub, had also called the consultation as crucial to align PTI’s position effectively in matters of national importance.
