Opposition alliance accuses govt of forcing Islamabad hotel to revoke permission for moot’s 2nd day – Pakistan

The Tehreek Tahafuz opposition alliance Ayeen-i-Pakistan accused the government of press He promised to proceed with the event.

After the conversations between the government and the opposition collapsed in January, the PTI made another impulse to establish a joint front against the federal government and agreed to Abbasi to be part of its anti -government movement.

The two -day debatable conference began today in Islamabad at the Legend hotel, where opposition parties met to discuss the current political situation and national problems.

Going to a press conference in Islamabad with other opposition leaders at his side, former prime minister and president of the Awaam Pakistan party, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, said the conference was on the country’s issues and the rule of law and the constitution.

“There was nothing that was in any matter of the State or any incitement talk. He only talks about the Constitution and the rule of law. This is the capital of the country and today we have a government in existence that is concerned about the name of the Constitution and a single conference.

“This conference was behind closed doors. He was not in the streets with the participation of hundreds of thousands, but only a few hundred people were there in an auditorium, but the government could not bear this and after the end of the first day of the conference, the hotel administration told us that there were an intelligence or administration officials here who threatened the hotel staff that if he celebrates the conference it will be fined to millions and will be arrested despite the fact that this hotel is for lawyers and gives them services and is linked to the institution of the supreme Court Also, ”he said.

Abbasi added that despite the above, opposition members were told that they could not celebrate the second day of the debatable at the Legend hotel facilities. “The hotel [staff] He expressed his helplessness, ”he said.

The former prime minister said that the members of the opposition told the hotel administration that they had already made a reservation for two days and that it was a national conference with a discussion about the country’s problems, so if someone had exerted About staff, then this should be written. that the conference could not be held for the previous reason.

“The hotel administration unfortunately seems desperate. So we have decided that this conference will definitely take place tomorrow. This is our constitutional right. Not only that, we are also talking about the Constitution, so this is the greatest argument for the failure and weakness of this government that today they are concerned about the name of the Constitution. They are worried about a conference. “

When leaving in a PML-N supplement published in today’s newspapers, he said that his reality was that the government spending “billions in ads is afraid of a single conference.” He said that the above was equivalent to the “total performance” of the government and said it was a time to reflect on what was the state of the country, its affairs and the government.

“This is a misfortune. This government is based on two main parties that have governed during the last 50 years. We have also been part of them, but today the misfortune is that those who talk about democracy and the Constitution are now afraid of them. This government is established today only for lust for power, it has nothing to do with the problems of the country and wants to remain in power at any cost. This is the reality of the country today. “

He reiterated that the conference would definitely be held tomorrow.

Speaking after him, the opposition leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, praised the content of today’s discussions on the first day of the conference.

He said everyone talked about the strengthening of the country, adding that all the gathered were of a democratic mentality.

“We are talking about strengthening the country and here the hotel administration came to us and expressed its despair that they are under pressure. Interpreted what pressure, they said: “You are wise, so you realize.”

“Then, the sensible person understands that it can be GOG and Magog or angels or intelligence officials, but it must be someone to press them.”

He said that the members of the opposition demanded that the hotel administration give the matter in writing and said that the Alliance strongly condemned the situation. “I want to tell people in this installed regime … that if they do tomorrow [because] We will definitely come, then I will directly hit the door of the president of the Supreme Court of Pakistan as the leader of the opposition because recently because of his invitation, we went and informed him about the lack of the Constitution and the law in the country with the Judicial Branch promoted against The mall and its example of life are these mischief of the installed regime. “

TTAP Chief, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, promised to continue “this sacred battle” and said the alliance would return for the second day of Moot. “This alliance has announced a fight against unconstitutional and antidemocratic forces. We will fight this battle in a democratic way, ”he added.

Achakzai said that the TTAP was a natural and organic alliance unlike all the previously seen in the political history of the country.

In April of last year, the PTI has already formed a multiparty opposition alliance called Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP), which includes the Sunni Ittehad Council, Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami party, Baluchistan-Mengal National Party, Jamaat-iisami ,, and Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen.

TTAP leaders on Saturday also met with the head of the Great Democratic Alliance, Pir paid, and invited the GDA to the National Conference of two days.

PTI’s secretary general, Salman Akram Raja, had said on the occasion that his party wanted democratic rights in the country. It was of the opinion that the policy of his party was for the people of Pakistan and urged others to join them, since it was a struggle for the survival of the country.

Restrictions have been imposed on freedom of expression and the unions are abolishing, he said, claiming that PTI faced the injustices and the founder of the Imran Khan party had asked them to approach all, including the leader of the Pashtun Tahaffuz movement, Manzoor Pashteen and the rights activist Mahrang Baloch, Baloch. .

Abbasi says that democracy ‘suppressed’

Speaking during the conference before, Abbasi said that those in power were “suppressing democracy and dismantling the judicial system.”

Abbasi, while referring to the ruling coalition of PML-N and PPP, said: “These are the same people who used to talk about the same things I am talking about today.

“They talked about these issues for centuries, but today, they are repressing democracy, dismantling the judicial system, suppressing public opinion and is not successful by putting an end to political anarchy. What is forcing you to make such movements? He questioned.

“This is unfortunate because when those who run the political system sell their conscience and when political parties abandon their principles, such countries do not work. These are made obvious in Pakistan today, ”he continued.

“Today, there is no permission to speak, laws are being made to prevent people from talking and dismantling the judicial system,” he said, with an apparent reference to the recently promulgated prevention law of electronic crimes (amendment) 2025, also known as Pula

Referring to the ruling coalition, he said that those who defended democracy in the past were now more inverted in political power, calling the authorities concerned with hindering the organization of the debatable.

“Now, his government is not even allowing a conference related to the Constitution to be held behind closed doors in the capital of the nation,” he said, adding that three places of the conference had to change since the authorities did not allow the celebration of the Conference there.

“We are grateful to lawyers for providing this space today; We also tried other places, including institutions, but today the government is so scared that even a conference on the Constitution is not possible, ”said Abbasi.

He urged the public to talk about the affairs of the country, the supremacy of the Constitution and the democratic process. “This is an open forum and this is everyone’s responsibility,” he said.

Speaking about the opposition alliance, he said that while it was not unusual for different political parties to have disagreements, all were united when it was the Constitution, their supremacy, respect for the law and freedom of the judicial system.
