Speaking after him, the opposition leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub, praised the content of today’s discussions on the first day of the conference.

Referring to the ruling coalition, he said that those who defended democracy in the past were now more inverted in political power, calling the authorities concerned with hindering the organization of the debatable.
“Now, his government is not even allowing a conference related to the Constitution to be held behind closed doors in the capital of the nation,” he said, adding that three places of the conference had to change since the authorities did not allow the celebration of the Conference there.

He urged the public to talk about the affairs of the country, the supremacy of the Constitution and the democratic process. “This is an open forum and this is everyone’s responsibility,” he said.
Speaking about the opposition alliance, he said that while it was not unusual for different political parties to have disagreements, all were united when it was the Constitution, their supremacy, respect for the law and freedom of the judicial system.
