NDA leaders in huddle with eye on Delhi polls, hold talks on ONOE


NEW DELHI: NDA leaders meet in BJP president JP Nadda.at the residence on Wednesday on the occasion of the birth centenary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and also discussed the upcoming political challenges. The meeting was attended by Home Minister Amit Shah, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, Rajiv Ranjan Singh of JD(U), Anupriya Patel of Apna Dal (S) and HD Kumaraswamy of JD(S).
Hindustani Awam Morcha (S) leader Jitan Ram Manjhi, Rashtriya Lok Morcha president Upendra Kushwaha and Untilhar Vellappally of Bharath Dharma Jana Sena also attended.
Although no formal agenda was declared, sources said the assembly election in Delhi was a focal point along with discussions on good governance, a hallmark of Vajpayee’s tenure. The dialogue extended to the ‘one nation, one election’ proposal, and the first meeting of the parliamentary panel was scheduled for January 8. “Today I attended the NDA leaders’ meeting in New Delhi. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is achieving unprecedented milestones and has positioned itself as a global superpower,” Nadda posted on X.
Sanjay Nishad, chief of UP’s Nishad Party, described the meeting as “informal” but key to strategizing for future elections, highlighting the unity among the alliance members. He said the meeting recognized the recent electoral successes in Haryana and Maharashtra.
