Minister’s ‘dadi’ jibe at Indira Gandhi sparks ruckus in Rajasthan House


Jaipur: Rajasthan Social Minister of Justice Avinast Gehlot referred to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi as “Tumhari Dadi” (her grandmother) on Friday in response to a question in the assembly, which caused a fuss that led to the suspension of six MLA of the Congress for the session of Complete Budget, reports Shoeb Khan.THOSE. suspended includes the head of the State Congress Govind Singh endasra.
The controversy exploded during the time of the question when the Minister of BJP was answering a question related to a Hostel Govt scheme.
“In the last budget (2023-24), as always, you named this scheme after your grandmother Indira Gandhi,” Gehlot said, causing outrage.
The MLA of the Congress organized a sitting, demanding an immediate revocation of the suspension. The legislators sat on the floor of the assembly and had refused to leave until Friday night. The other five suspended legislators of Congress include Ramkesh Meena, Hakam Ali Khan, Amin Kagzi, Zakir Hussain Gesawat and Sanjay Kumar.
