In a star special that celebrates 50 years of “Saturday Night Live”, a cameo of a Hollywood legend stood out among many surprise appearances.
Jack Nicholson appeared in “SNL50”, which was broadcast on February 16, presenting Adam Sandler, who performed a song that celebrated the story of the iconic night program.
“Ladies and Knights, Adam Sandler,” said the three -time Oscar winner while he was dressed in a dark shirt, a jacket and a beret with the New York Yankees logo.
“Yes baby! Let’s listen to him for Jack, baby! Jack came out tonight! Thank you, brother, ”Sandler exclaimed while pointing to the crowd before starting her performance.
Nicholson, 87, has maintained a low profile in recent years. It has not appeared in a movie or television show since the 2010 movie “How do you know”, according to IMDB. However, he has a connection with Sandler: the couple co -starred in the 2003 comedy “Wrath management”, with Nicholson playing an unconventional therapist in charge of helping Sandler, who plays a man who is incorrectly put in handling of anger.
Dressed in a tuxedo, Sandler, a member of the “SNL” cast from 1991 to 1995, then launched to the original song type for which he has become famous.
Sometimes fun and moving, the song paid tribute to the show, with Sandler joking about things like the challenges of getting a sketch in the air and how it can be difficult to work for Michaels.
“Fifty years of writers watching (Steven) Spielberg in Lorne’s monitors, without laughing at one of his sketches he obviously hated,” he sang. “Fifty years of those same writers who waste at the back party and telling everyone aloud as ‘Jaws’ was overrated.”
After calling the original cast of the “The Best” program, Sandler made a step to call a wide range of cast members, such as Eddie Murphy, Jan Hooks, Billy Crystal, Victoria Jackson, Gilda Radner, Phil Hartman and Rachel Dratch, as well as others who worked behind the scene.
Sandler also paid tribute to the races of two beloved “SNL” stars.
“Six years of our child (Chris) Farley, five of our Friends Standard (Macdonald),” he said, while the public applauded while their respective faces appeared on the screen behind Sandler.
He continued singing, mentioning how 50 years have passed to say: “Long live from New York, it’s Saturday night!” and 50 years of waving at the end of the show.
“Fifty years of the best moments of our lives,” he sang when the song was over, with the audience giving Sandler a standing ovation.
Many spectators resorted to social networks to applaud Sander for their touching tribute.
“Adam Sandler’s song was the best part of SNL’s 50th anniversary so far,” wrote an user in X.
“I knew that Adam Sandler would kill us all with his performance. Truly one of the most iconic personalities … #SNL50, ”another wrote.
