An Israeli air attack killed two Palestinians in Rafah in southern Gaza Strip on Saturday, medical sources said, since the mediators advanced with conversations to extend an unstable high fire of 42 days agreed in January between Israel and Hamas.
The Israeli army said his plane hit a drone that crossed Israel to the south of Gaza and “several suspects” that tried to pick it up in what seemed to be an attempt to smuggled failed.
The strike occurs a day after a strike of unmanned aircraft Israeli killed two people in Gaza on Friday. The Israeli army said he attacked a group of alleged militants who operated near their troops in northern Gaza and planted an explosive device on the ground.

Hamas said there are “positive indicators” about the possible start of negotiations for the second phase of the high fire agreement, without giving more details.
“We affirm our willingness to participate in the negotiations of the second phase in a way that meets the demands of our people, and we ask for intensified efforts to help the Gaza Strip and raise the blockade to our people who suffered,” said the group’s spokesman, Abdel-Latif al-Qanoua, in a statement.
The Gaza Fuego Alto Agreement that entered into force in January requires that the remaining 59 hostages in the captivity of Hamas will be released in a second phase, during which the final plans for the end of the war would be negotiated.
The first phase of the Alto Fire ended last week, and Israel has imposed a total blockade of all the goods that enter the enclave, demanding that Hamas be free of remaining hostages without starting negotiations to end the Gaza War.
The fighting has stopped since January 19 and Hamas has published 33 Israeli hostages and five Thai for some 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and detainees. Israeli authorities believe that less than half of the remaining 59 hostages are still alive.
The assault of Israel to the enclave has killed more than 48,000 Palestinians, according to Gaza’s health authorities. It has also internally displaced the entire population of almost Gaza and has led to accusations of crimes of genocide and war that Israel denies.
The assault began after the Islamist combatants led by Hamas assaulted southern Israel on October 7, 2023, killing about 1,200 people and taking 251 hostages, according to Israeli stories.
