Srinagar: a photo of a Fiesta Iftar has set fire to social networks in Kashmir Valley. IFTAR was lodged by Popular Democratic Party (DPD) President Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday, and the image showed his daughter Iltij National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah.
It was iltija who published Iphtar’s photos in their social media handles, which have now left PDP and NC Miffed supporters, and many looked for responses from “those who fought with each other.”
Earlier on March 23, Mehbooba had organized an IFTAR party in Jammu, which was attended by CM Omar and his father and president of NC Farooq Abdullah.
However, it is the bonhomie of the next generation of the two largest political families in Kashmiro who seems to have irritated some loyal, who have accused politicians of flying to their followers.
“It is discouraging to see the political parties that participate in heated debates and conflicts in public, only to put aside their differences and socialize together privately. This can be perceived as a hypocritical and derogatory of people’s concerns,” said a FAIQ Faiz on Facebook.
Another Internet users regretted that political leaders did not even remember the names of their firm supporters fighting for them, but were happy to share foods with their opponents.
However, not all reactions were negative, since some social media users indicated that there was a distinction between political rivalry and personal enmity. A publication by One Shah Sameer said: “Political unity is essential for the functioning of a healthy democracy and the well -being of society. While there are challenges, promoting dialogue, understanding and shared objectives can help unite divisions and promote a more cohesive political climate.”
During last year’s elections, the two matches had criticized themselves bitterly, with illusion accusing NC of betraying people, and NC describing PDP as BJP “team B”. Zahir and Zamir were also active during the voting campaign, and were repeatedly headed to PDP.
