Nueva Delhi: interacting with the two naval official women who are currently undertaking the exhausting navigation expedition, defense minister, Rajnath Singh, said Friday that the government was committed to the vision of Armed forces of gender inclusionencourage more young women to aspire to careers in defense and adventure sports.
At a video conference with Lieutenant Commanders Dilna K and Rouopa A, who are currently in the Southern Atlantic Ocean in their Navika Sagar Parikrama IISingh said his “continuous brave trip” aboard Insv Tarini, addressing the immense challenge of circumnavigating the worldIt stands as “a lighthouse of Nari Shakti“
“Its unwavering resistance, quiet behavior and a meticulous approach during prolonged periods of harsh maritime conditions, while crossing thousands of nautical miles, exemplifies the exceptional abilities of women today,” he said, on the eve of the International Women’s Day, along with the admireral of the Marine Dinah K tripathi.
The minister also recognized the “invaluable role of women in reinforcing national security” and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expand opportunities for women in the defense sector.
Singh congratulated the two women for the notable milestones of Crossing Point Nemo, the most isolated waters in the world, and navigating through the passage of Drake, one of the most treacherous water bodies.
Navika Sagar Parikrama II is a flagship initiative of the Indian Navy. “It symbolizes India’s resolution to promote women’s participation in maritime and defense sectors, promoting leadership and self -sufficiency. The two official women underwent a rigorous training in navigation, climate management and oceanic survival techniques before undertaking this prestigious trip, which was marked by the head of the Navy on October 2 in Goa,” said an officer.
