Nueva Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Prime Minister Yogi Adityanath said Thursday to support invaders who attacked India’s cultural heritage and did not respect their people constitutes an act of betrayal.
Prime Minister’s comment arrives in the context of the current row on the elimination of the tomb of Emperor Mogol Aurengzeb in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district of Maharashtra.
Speaking in a public event in Bahraich, Yogi said: “Glorify the invaders means strengthening the betrayal roots. New India will never accept those who will insult our great ancestors and praise those who attacked our civilization, violated our women and attacked our faith.”
“At a time when the world recognizes the cultural legacy of India, each citizen has the obligation to maintain respect for our distinguished leaders, instead of praising those who tried to eliminate our identity,” he added.
Uttar Pradesh’s prime minister made the comments while discussing the recently completed Maha Kumbh In Prayagraj.
Yogi referred to the recent discourse of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where Prime Minister Modi praised Uttar Pradesh for organizing the event that attracted “more than 66 million devotees” to the confluence of bargain, Yamuna and mystic Saraswati.
“No other nation has organized such a huge event, nor can any country organize some of this magnitude. The Maha Kumbh demonstrated the lasting culture of Sanatan of India, which will continue to motivate future generations,” said Yogi.
