Five more Morocco boat survivors return – Pakistan

Gujrat: Five survivors of the tragedy of the Morocco ship contacted here on Friday, while the arrival of 10 bodies of deceased Pakistani immigrants was further delayed, according to official sources.

The five survivors belonging to Gujrat, the districts of Mandi Bahauddin and Hafizabad de Punjab landed at Islamabad airport one day after two flights had brought seven survivors to Islamabad.

The repatriation operation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be completed on Saturday with the scheduled arrival of the final lot of eight survivors.

However, official sources said, the 10 bodies of deceased Pakistani immigrants had not yet been returned. They said that the Moroccan authorities had not confirmed the identity of some among them until Friday, which was causing the general delay.

All survivors of the ship’s tragedy were delivered to the Circles of Gujranwala and Gujrat of the Federal Research Agency (FIA) by the immigration authorities shortly after their arrival. After the necessary questions, all those who were brought on Thursday were allowed to return home.

Meanwhile, the FIA ​​Gujranwala circle claimed to have arrested a trafficker of people, namely Waris Ali, a resident of Gondalanwala Street, in relation to a complaint registered against him.

According to the plaintiff, the suspect had extorted RS2.5 million of him with the promise of sending him to Italy, but did not. Additional investigation is being carried out.

On the other hand, about 15 immigration officials received training on basic security documents at the Sialkot International Airport.

The trainers of the International Center for the Development of Migration Policies (ICMPD) held different training sessions for two days. The officials said that the training helped them face the challenges of illegal trafficking of people and try to travel in false documents.

On the other hand, a joint ICMPD team, Sialkot International Airport Limited (SIAL) and an architect firm conducted a survey for the allocation of space in the output room for the establishment of a second -line office, which will analyze the suspicious passengers even after authorization. of the main immigration counters.
