The Food and Medicines Administration of the United States has update its Retirement of the Granola Madegood bar.
The popular Bars of Granola, sold on Amazon and in stores such as Target, Whole Foods, Wegmans, CVS, among others, were voluntarily removed in December due to the possible metal pollution. On February 11, the FDA classified the retirement as Class II. According to the FDA, a class II classification is provided if a product “can cause adverse adverse or medically reversible health consequences or when the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”
What products Madegood Granola were remembered?
The withdrawal included more than 2 million total cases of Bars of Granola Madegood, including flavors such as chocolate sparks, cookies and cream and mixed berries, among others.

What should you do if you have the granola bars withdrawn?
Madegood said customers can return the products potentially affected the same retailer where food was bought for a complete refund. Once returned, the retailer “will destroy the product.”
At that time, Madegood wrote in a statement: “We voluntarily remember certain Bales of Granola de Madegood as a precautionary measure due to a potential security danger. There is a very small risk that some of our granola bar products made between January and November 2024 may contain a piece of metal. “
Madegoood said the retirement was “due to abundance of caution and commitment” to its clients, and added that injuries had not been reported.
In December, the company said that “it carried out an extensive investigation in which the withdrawal products were manufactured and have identified the source of an isolated problem in the manufacturing process that has been corrected.”
“The company has remedied the problem and tried the new processes to ensure that any future is completely mitigated,” said Madegood.
