LAHORE: A video clip showing Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz rebuilds the Medical Superintendent of the May Hospital went viral on Friday, attracting criticism for his “public humiliation” of a high -level doctor, and some suggest that he should empower and assign the Ministers of Health to improve the provision of services in public hospitals in the province instead of enjoying “political sessions.”
During his visit to the hospital on Thursday, the CM had ordered the elimination of its Executive Director (CEO) Dr. Asghar Nauman and the medical superintendent, Prof Dr. Faisal Masood, about the complaints of some patients regarding the lack of availability of medications, in addition to poor conditions of treatment and sanitation in the main medical care facilities.
The legislator of PML-N Hina Pervez Butt uploaded the video on her x account in which Maryam was seen to the main doctor in front of a team of her companions and bureaucrats.

“Are you here … you don’t know anything. Who named you here? He doesn’t even know what is happening to patients here, ”said the CM and ordered that the EM be fired.
Going to Mrs. Dr. Masood, who is also an orthopedic professor, said: “You should be grateful that I am not arresting you.”
With many on different social media platforms that call the public humiliation of a “highly inappropriate” senior doctor, some suggested that the CM should not copy the style of their Uncle Shehbaz Sharif to fire the officials in the spot, but must assign their two ministers of health to improve the affairs of public hospitals in Punjab, and take measures against them if they do not.
Khwaja Salman Rafique and Khwaja Imran Nazir have specialized health portfolios and primary and secondary medical care departments in Punjab, respectively.
“In fact, this is the incompetence of the provincial Minister of Health. If CM itself has to go to the field to evaluate the situation and take action, then the system will be in a bad situation. All provincial ministers must be totally trained to take measures, ”said Abdul Rehman in X.
According to some reports, Dr. Masood had already presented his resignation (which was not accepted) in protest against not obtaining funds for the hospital. In this context, another user X, Asif Jabin, said that billions of rupees spent by the Maryam administration in advertisements to celebrate the completion of their year in power could have been provided to such hospitals for the well -being of patients.
Using Tiktok, Dr. Mohsin Hasan said that the doctors’ community should unanimously condemn the public humiliation of a high -level doctor at the hands of CM.
“Dr. Masood should also have defended and protest the attitude of CM,” he said.
Defending the action of CM against Mrs., Punjab main minister, Marriyum Aurengzeb, said: “CM Maryam Nawaz made a visit not announced to the Mayo Hospital, where citizens expressed numerous complaints. Taking quick measures, the EM immediately eliminated, emphasizing zero tolerance for incompetence. “
On Friday, the CM released RS340 million to the May Hospital for the purchase of medicines.
“In the address of the CM, RS340m have been transferred to the hospital for the acquisition of medicines. Permission has been granted to use the existing payment funds and the allocation of vacancies at the May Hospital for the purchase of medicines. The Finance Department has issued an order to reallocate payment and allocation funds. Despite the availability of additional funds in the May Hospital budget, they were not used properly, ”said a government statement.
