Quetta: Former Baluchistan Prime Minister, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, and the head of Bugti tribes, Nawab Aali Bugti, have strongly condemned the suicide attack in a sitting in the hands of the National Baluchistan Party (BNP).
The two leaders said the attack was a “conspiracy” to worsen the situation of the law and the order in Baluchistan, which was frustrated.
On Saturday, a suicide terrorist tried to enter the sitting site near the Lakpass area of the Mastung district.
However, as intercepted by security guards, he detonated the explosives tied to his body away from the protest site.
Dr. Baloch, who also directs the National Party, said the provincial government was responsible for the security of the protesters.
He urged the government to eliminate obstacles and allow protesters to enter Quetta.
He also extended his best wishes to the leaders and participants of the protest.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement, the central spokesman of the National Party condemned the alleged repression and arrests of BNP leaders and supporters.
He said the arrests were aimed at stopping the “long peaceful and democratic march” of BNP.
The spokesman said that the government manages all political processes through force and in an antidemocratic way, which highlights its lack of political vision.
The statement also mentioned that Baluchistan is currently facing a critical situation, with Dr. Mahrang Baloch, Sammi Din Baloch, Bebow Baloch, Bebarg Baloch and other leaders of the Baloch Jakjehti Committee detained under Section 3 of the Public Order Maintenance (MPO) for participating in peaceful protests.
The families of these detainees were worried about their health, which is really alarming.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Nawab Bugti emphasized that it was the government’s responsibility to guarantee the security of the protesters.
While expressing solidarity with the demands of BNP leader, Sardar Akhtar Mengal, Bugti requested the release of detained activists.
He added that protesters should be allowed to continue their peaceful march in Quetta.
Bugti demanded that those responsible for the attack be with justice and guarantee the safety of all Long March participants.
He pointed out that the incident was not isolated, but part of the continuous cycle of violence in Baluchistan.
