Peshawar: When visiting the Darul Uuloom Haqqania a week after he was shaken by a mortal suicidal attack, Maulana Fazlur Rehman made a burning speech that denounced the murder of Muslims and religious scholars such as “no Yhad, but militancy.”
When addressing seminars at the Akora Khattak Institute, the head of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-Islam (JUI-F) questioned whether playing with the life of innocent Muslims could be called ‘Jihad’.
He said that taking arms against Muslims and religious scholars could be the result of someone’s personal revenge or myopia, or a conspiracy, but could not be called ‘jihad’ by any stretch of the imagination. “It’s terrorism,” he said.
“You are murderers, ruthless, criminals. Why are you cheating?
Ask students not to allow contradictions to contaminate their minds
The leader of Jui-S, Maulana Hamidul Haqqqani, was among the six people perished in suicide bombing in the Seminary in Nowshera on February 8. The Jui-S leader went home after Friday’s prayers when the suicide bomber attacked him, according to the police.
During her condolence visit to the seminar, La Maulana said she felt it was not an attack against Maulana Haq, but an attack against her own home and seminar (Face).
The Jui-F chief told the meeting that the mosques were being attacked. Recently, a person was taken from a mosque and shot dead, he said, adding that another religious scholar offered Taraweeh sentences when he was killed.
“Do you have any moral?” He asked, noting that the religious scholars and 90 of the workers of his party had been killed during a meeting in Bajaur.
“Hazrat Shaikh Maulana Hassan Jan is a martyr. Should I call my teacher as a martyr and the murderer a mujahid? He asked, telling the meeting not to give space to such contradictions in his minds.
The Chief of Jui-F said he heard about a possible military operation in Jamia and had warned some main leaders to stay away from any action of this type during a meeting with them.
He said when he told them that an operation was being planned: “They looked at each other like me [Maulana] I knew it and looked at me in silence. But I told them that if you plan something like that, it will cost you. ”
He also said that some officials retired and that the plan was destroyed when he warned them that if they tried, they would have to face it (Fazl).
However, he told students that this militancy spell would happen and that academics and seminars would confirm religion. “These are black storms: they will come and pass, but these seminars, religious scholars and Jui will defend religion,” he said.
The Maulana said that a Fatwa issued by religious scholars of Pakistan and Afghanistan was in her place. It seemed to refer to an edict, approved by Afghan leader Talibán Hibatullah Akhundada, declaring cross -border attacks, including those of Pakistan, “Haram”.
After this, he said, any aggression against other Muslims could not be considered ‘jihad’.
