Amazon issued an apology on Wednesday after actor Mandy Moore published with anger that a delivery driver left a package in the house of his in -laws that was destroyed in the fires of the Los Angeles area.
Moore published a single box image in front of a pile of debris that once turned the home of her husband’s parents. The photo was published in Moore’s Instagram stories on Tuesday with a legend that tells Amazon to “do better.”
“Can’t we have a better discretion than to leave a package in a residence that no longer exists?” Moore wrote.
A Amazon spokesman said in a statement that the company communicated with Moore on social networks to apologize and request more information to investigate the incident.
“Those who are delivered in our name have been advised to use discretion in areas affected by forest fires, especially if it implies delivering a damaged house, which clearly did not happen here,” said spokesman Steve Kelly.
The mother -in -law and Moore’s father is among the thousands displaced by the fires of Palisades and Eaton last month in southern California. He took more than three weeks containing both fires fully, directing irregular firefighters while they also fought against a series of smaller fires in the area that exploded at that time.
The fires of Eaton and Palisades were, with much, the largest of the Blazes, together killing at least 29 people and damaging or destroying more than 18,000 structures.
Moore and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, safely evacuated with their three children and pets in the middle of the night, before the fires arrived at their home in Altadena.
In Publications on Instagram, Moore has shared details and photos of substantial damage to his property. The study that Goldsmith, a musician, uses burned along with his instruments, as well as the back of the couple and the garage.
Moore said in a position on Tuesday that while the structure of his house was still standing, the content was considered a “total loss.” She wrote that she was grateful to have the house even if her definition of home is “in Flux”.
“This place, our home and the city itself, was our dream and I hope that over time I feel like that again … only one slightly different,” Moore wrote.
Goldsmith’s brother, who acts with him at the Dawes band, lost his home in Altadena. The band made a set in the Grammy earlier this month, leading a group of musicians in a version of “I love” by Randy Newman to open the program.
