The liberal deputy of Nueva Scotia, Jaime Battiste, says he will leave the leadership career of the Liberal Party in favor of supporting former central banker Mark Carney.
The 46-year member of Sydney-Victoria joined the race on January 23 and was the only candidate of the first nations in the race to replace Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Battiste was first chosen in 2019.
