A police officer was martyred in Quetta when the unidentified assailants killed him in shots in the early hours of Thursday when he returned to Casa del Labor, said the police. Dawn.com.
According to Rabia Tariq, public relations officer of the Baluchistan Police Inspector, Mehboob Shah, returned home through Manu Jan Road when the suspects killed him shots.
“The suspects ambushed him in front of his house, opened fire and fled,” Tariq told Dawn.com.
“Police Mehboob Shah died on the spot. His body was taken to a hospital, before being delivered to his family for the burial after the funeral prayers in Quetta Civil Lines. ”
He added that the police had completed his duty at the United Nations Office in a housing scheme in the city. No more details were provided.
In September last year, a police officer was martyred in Quetta when unidentified gunmen opened fire against their car.
Subinspector Amanullah was heading to Amir Muhammad Shaheed police station for service when his vehicle was attacked near his home in the Killi Deba area.
The policeman was seriously injured in the attack, then succumbed to his wounds at the Civil Hospital. “The policeman, who worked as an investigation officer, received multiple injuries in the bullet,” hospital officials said, and added that the body was delivered to the police after completing Medicolegal formalities.
Police described the “killing” attack and said an investigation was underway.
