Iran makes arrests after student murder sparks protest – World

The Iranian authorities said on Saturday that several suspects had been arrested in the case of the murder of a student who caused a night of protest at the University of Tehran.

The protests at the University of Tehran occur more than two years after the demonstrations throughout the country swept Iran after the death in custody of Mahsa Amini in September 2022. Khaleghi’s body was buried on Saturday in his hometown in the south of the province of Khorasan, in eastern Iran.
