YouTuber Andrew Cross dies weeks after car accident


Andrew Cross, known for his YouTube audience as “Desert Drifter,” died on Tuesday after being withdrawn from life support after suffering a serious brain injury while he was involved in a car accident last month. I was 36 years old.

Cross’s death was announced in a publication at Caringbridge.com, which described him as peacefully died with his wife, Evelyn, next to him.

The news that Cross had been in an accident for the first time in February.

A February 1 publication at Caringbridge.com shared that Cross was in a severe car accident last night while heading home in Bears Ears National Monument in Utah.

Evelyn described the incident to the followers in a separate video in which he asked for sentences.

“I just wanted to get here and share and ask for your love, your prayers and support,” he said.

In the video, Evelyn said that Cross was in an intensive care unit “fighting for his life for a really severe brain injury.”

“This community has really meant a lot for him and both of them during the last year. And I know he would want everyone to know this, ”he said.

She talked about the belief of Cross in the power of prayer, as she requested the support of her spectators.

“We really believe in power and that God is going to work through this tragedy,” he continued. “And so for those of you who feel comfortable praying for him, please, please pray for him. For those of you who feel comfortable sending good thoughts, send them too. ”

“We are very grateful for all of you for watching your videos. It is amazing for us. You want to see them, so we thank you for everything, ”he added. “We simply keep asking for your support at this time.”

Cross joined YouTube in November 2023, creating more than 50 videos and accumulating 474,000 subscribers.
