‘Your loyalty lies with Delhi or with your government in Haryana?’: Delhi CM Atishi writes back to LG Saxena on Yamuna pollution | India News

NEW DELHI: Main Minister of Delhi Atishi Wednesday wrote a letter to Lieutenant Governor VK SAXENAaccusing it of “not addressing the pressing problem of dangerously high ammonia levels in Delhi’s water” and prioritizing the directives of “political teachers.”
CM Atishi wrote: “It is deeply disappointing, but barely surprising that, instead of addressing the pressing problem of dangerously high ammonia levels in Delhi’s water, you have placed accusations without foundation and has sold a false narrative to deviate from its absolute Failure to fulfill your responsibilities. “
“Ammonia levels in Yamuna are 700% above the permit Serve, “he added.

Atishi’s letter was in response to one from LG Saxena, who criticized the comments of “poisoned water” of the national call. Arvind Kejriwal, as “false” and “misleading”, warning that they represented a threat to national peace .
Atishi claimed that as a lieutenant governor, the constitutional duty of Saxena is to serve the people of Delhi, but he chose “to remain faithful to his political masters.
Criticizing further her position, she questioned: “Her relentless defense of the Haryana government and her complete inaction against the contamination of the Delhi water supply raised a critical question: where is her loyalty? With the people of Delhi or with the government of your party in Haryana? “
“If you really worry about Delhi’s residents, I would have taken immediate measures to hold Haryana for her negligence and avoid this crisis. Instead, she has chosen to point to those who dare to tell the truth,” he added.
“Make false, misleading and non -practical accusations of poisoning and genocide for a delicate issue like drinking water and trying to incite the public against another state government is not only a threat to the states involved, but also for national peace and security,” Saxena said in his letter to Atishi.
Atishi also claimed that, while the LG promised to serve the people of Delhi, “but their actions reveal that their main interest lies in following the orders received from the BJP instead of defending the Constitution or prioritizing the well -being of citizens,” he added .
Atishi continued his criticism in stating that, “the issue of water quality in Del Haryana BJP government, led by BJP.
“In this critical situation, I had two options: prioritize public interest or to lean to political interest. Unfortunately, it has chosen the latter,” said the CM of Delhi.
Earlier on Monday, Kejriwal accused Haryana of mixing “poison” in the water of Yamuna supplied to Delhi, qualifying him as a “genocide attempt” in the capital.
LG said such statements, letters and tweets could raise a serious challenge for law and order both in Haryana and Delhi. Saxena also questioned the moment of the problem raised by Kejriwal and Atishi, saying that they remained silent when the ammonia level was higher in December, but “falsely accused” Haryana’s government to poison the river when it had fallen.
Referring to the large amount of unrelated industrial and domestic wastewater that are discharged directly in the Yamuna in Delhi, Saxena said it was “ironic” that instead of participating in the self -reflection and taking the necessary measures on the subject, Delhi Government was “falsely” accusing “other states.
Saxena also added that, as a woman and cm educated, enlightened and sensitive, Atishi should overcome “small interests” and refrain from making such dangerous statements in the interest of public welfare and peace.
