Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the occupation of Kashmir for India, the “defining conflict” of southern Asia, since Pakistan marked six years on Tuesday since New Delhi deprived the region celebrated of its special autonomy.
Pakistan is observing today Yom-i -itehsal (exploitation day) to commemorate the sixth anniversary of India that revokes the special autonomy of Kashmir and to show solidarity with the Kashmir.
On August 5, 2019, the government led by Narendra Modi of India deprived the territory of Muslim majority of its special status repealing article 370 of the Constitution, dividing the old state into two territories governed directly by New Delhi.
“The illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir of India remained the defining conflict of the southern region of Asia, and the driver of the continuous dishonest behavior of India,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz in a statement.
The prime minister also recalled the recent conflict of India-Pakistan, pointing out: “The unprovoked aggression of India against Pakistan in May 2025, and its rapid and integral military defeat are only the last evidence of the urgent need of the international community to ensure that the resolution of the Kashmir dispute becomes a global priority.
“The will and aspirations of the People of Cashmira, according to the resolutions of the UN Security Council, are the only way to follow,” he emphasized.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said that a “fair resolution of the Jammu and Cashmiro dispute was a key pillar of Pakistan’s foreign policy.”
The prime minister reiterated the “strongest condemnation” of the illegal and unilateral actions of India to alter the demographic structure and political panorama of Kashmir occupied by India (Iok).
He also missed India’s efforts to silence the genuine leaders of Kashmiro as part of the “broader hegemonic and extremist agenda” that reported his illegal occupation of the disputed region.
“The imprisonment of the leaders and activists of Kashmiro, including Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik and Masarrat Alam Bhatt, will never attenuate the resolution of our sisters and brothers of Kashmira,” he said.
Urging the international community to play a role in the arrest of human rights crimes in Iok and reverse the 2019 action, the prime minister reaffirmed the “unwavering” position of Pakistan, the moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Cashmiro.
Meanwhile, in his statement, President Asif Ali Zardari also referred to the recent conflict with India, emphasizing that “the” YOM-EE-Instehsal “this year assumes greater importance.”
“While the summary of the ‘Operation Bunyanum Marsoos’ is a great pride for the people of Pakistan, the day also underlines the need for an agreement of the Jammu and Kashmira dispute, according to the resolutions of the relevant CSNU and the wishes of the people of Kashmiri, for a hard peace in southern Asia,” said the president.
He stressed that the Indian authorities had taken a series of steps, aimed at changing the demographic structure and political landscape of the IOK, during the last six years.
“These measures include gerrymandering of the electoral constituencies, allowing the addition of no Kashmiris to the electoral lists, the issuance of domicile certificates to the strangers, granting more powers to the lieutenant governor in administrative matters and the introduction of new laws on property and property,” he said.
“The people of Cashmiro faces the danger of becoming a community without power in their own land. The genuine leadership of the People of Cookmira remains behind bars. The intimidation of innocent people, arbitrary arrests and the so -called operations of ‘Cordon and Search’ have become a routine issue,” said Sardari.
To mark YOM-I-ENTEHSAL, a demonstration of the House of Parliament was carried out to D-Cowk in Islamabad to express solidarity with the puppy.
The repressive actions of India only perpetuate human suffering: ISPR
The Armed Forces also emphasized that it was “unequivocally evident that lasting peace in southern Asia remains unattainable without the just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.”
In a press release, The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Said Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Also Munir, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu and The Armed Forces Reaffirmed Their “Unwavering Solidarity with the Resilient and Courageous People of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (Iiojk)”.
“The repressive actions of India, along with its belligerent position and its incendiary rhetoric, only serve to exacerbate regional instability and perpetuate human suffering,” said the ISPR.
He added: “The armed forces of Pakistan fully support the legitimate and continuous struggle of the people of Cookmira for their inalienable right to self -determination, as considered in international law and resolutions of the UN Security Council.
“The continuous illegal occupation of IIOJK by the Indian security forces, characterized by a relentless military siege, systemic violations of human rights and demographic engineering, constitutes a serious violation of international standards and remains a deep concern.
The Armed Forces “pay tribute to the martyrs of Iiojk and reiterate their lasting commitment to stop shoulder with the people of Cookmira in their fair and legitimate struggle for freedom.”
