Nueva Delhi: making his first great public appearance since AAP’s defeat in the Delhi elections, Arvind Kejriwal has had an objective once again to India Bloc-Ally, Congress. Speaking at the event ‘Ek Shaam Shaheedon Ke Naam’ by Sunday, Kejriwal accused both BJP and Congress to Colude, claiming that none of the parties values the contributions of the national icons Bhagat Singh and Br Ambedkar.
“We consider that Bhagat Singh and Baba Saheb Ambedkar our ideals. There are images of both in our house and in each office of the governments of Delhi and Punjab. The first thing the new government did in Delhi was to eliminate the photos of both. We were waiting for them (BJP) so that the 2,500 women were women.
He added: “When we placed the photos of these two, Congress protested that the image of Gandhiji was not presented. However, when the BJP eliminated the photos of these two, Congress said nothing. There is a collusion between these two.”
Kejriwal recalled how Bhagat Singh’s letters from the prison were delivered to his comrades despite being critical of the British. On the contrary, he claimed that his own prison letter never reached the governor and, instead, led to a notice of cause against him. “Bhagat Singh had the freedom to write any letter, but I was not even allowed to write two lines,” he said, calling the BJP “worse than the British.”
“I wrote a letter to LG that was in jail, so Athishi should be allowed to raise the flag. There was nothing wrong with this. I gave a letter to the superintendent of the jail, but the letter did not reach LG, and I received a show causes that I dare to write a letter.
AAP suffered an important electoral setback in Delhi, losing to the BJP, which secured 48 of the 70 seats. Kejriwal’s return to public life at the Shaheed Diwas event marks a significant moment for the game, since he tries to recover the impulse. The event, held at the AAP headquarters, attended main leaders, MLA, councilors and offices.
Kejriwal’s comments also reflect the deepest crack between AAP and Congress, which were allied in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, but became fierce rivals during the surveys of the Delhi assembly. The campaign saw Rahul Gandhi launching scathing attacks against Kejriwal, accusing him of corruption and bad government. The Congress had claimed that AAP was responsible for the liquor fraud and criticized Kejriwal for not maintaining the legacy of governments led by the previous congress in Delhi.
The animosity between AAP and Congress had intensified in the period prior to the elections, with Kejriwal frequently returning the accusations of Gandhi. “Modi puts people in jail even making false cases such as the scam of liquors.
