Nueva Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked International Women’s Day with a strong message about the empowerment of women, highlighting key government initiatives aimed at raising women throughout the country. In a speech pronounced on the occasion, he declared that he is the “richest man in the world” due to the blessings of millions of women.
“Today, in #Womensday, I can proudly say that I am the richest man in the world, since I have the blessings of millions of mothers and sisters in the bank account of my life, which is increasing continuously. His blessings are my greatest wealth and strength, ”said Prime Minister Modi.
The prime minister described several measures taken by his government to improve the safety and financial independence of women. He pointed out the implementation of E-Fir, which allows victims to submit police reports remotely, and the disposition of FIR Zero, which allows women to present complaints at any police station, regardless of jurisdiction. In addition, he noted that rape victims can now record statements through audio or video calls, while medical exam times have been reduced to seven days to guarantee faster justice.
Speaking about the economic empowerment of women, Prime Minister Modi highlighted initiatives such as Namo Don Didi Yojana, which is revolutionizing the rural economy by allowing women to win substantial income. “Through initiatives such as Bank Sakhi and Beema Sakhi, women are gaining new opportunities to increase their income,” he added.
Referring to the women’s reserve bill, Prime Minister Modi added that his government prioritized the representation of women in decision making. “When the country obtained its new parliament, I approved the first bill related to Nari Shakti. What is even more empowering is that a woman who comes from a tribal context, our honorable president, signed that bill, ”he said.
Modi also highlighted government efforts to increase housing property among women, stating that since 2014, approximately three crore women have become housing owners. He praised the female workforce of India, particularly in the application of law, aviation and science, noting that the country has the highest percentage of women’s pilots worldwide.
In social welfare, Modi stressed how his government has ensured dignity and convenience for women through initiatives such as bathing, providing financial security with bank accounts and improving maternal medical care. “Previously, working women used to have only 12 weeks of maternity leave, but we have increased this to 26 weeks,” he said.
As part of the celebrations of Women’s Day, six inspiring women from various fields took care of Modi’s social media accounts to share their trips. These included the Grand Master of Chess Vaishali Rameshbabu, the “Lady of Bihar de Bihar” Anita Devi, the nuclear scientist Elina Mishra, the scientist of Isro Shilpi Soni, the businesswoman Ajaita Shah and the defender of accessibility, Dr. Anjlee Agarwal.
