A Louisiana woman with a history of “drug addicts” and stealing her credit cards was arrested after the death of a television journalist who was in the city for the Super Bowl, police said Friday.
The hotel security images showed Danette Colbert, who lives in the nearby Slidell, with Adan Manzano by Kansas City Telemundo and entering his room at 4:35 am Wednesday, Kenner’s chief of Kenner, Kenner’s police officers told journalists Keith Conley.
The detectives say they got on the Colbert path after discovering that the credit card that Manzano used to register in the comfort suites was not in his body or in the hotel room, according to Conley.
Colbert went on to use the Manzano credit card “in several stores in the New Orleans area.” Kenner’s police said in a statement.
At the end of Friday morning, Colbert has only been “accused of real estate crimes, including fraud and crimes related to theft”, although “this investigation is still ongoing,” according to the police statement.
Kenner’s police have not yet said how Manzano died.
“You asked if this was a homicide, I don’t know where it will end. We are going to let the evidence take us to the final result and do not speculate,” Conley said.
“As soon as the coroner ends with his findings and will classify him as homicide or any death, the evidence takes him and then these positions could be updated.”
The suspect has an arrest record “that includes accusations of drug addicts, currency theft, fraudulent use of credit and debit cards, and other financial crimes,” said Kenner’s police, who requested that “anyone who can recognize Danette Colbert and have information about information regarding your participation in these crimes to call “researchers.
In 2022 in Nevada, the police said that Colbert was “accused of introducing a substance, a foreign substance” in a victim, said Conley, “and the other was in the Jefferson parish, I think it was two years ago.”
