Woman and her infant among 3 shot dead for ‘honour’ in Mardan – Pakistan

A woman and her little son were among the three murderers killed by the so -called ‘honor’ in the early hours of Monday in the Rustam de Mardan area, authorities said.

The Rustam Station Station officer (SHO) Mohammad Daud Khan confirmed that the incident took place in the area of ​​Taja Banda, saying that a woman, her one -year -old son and his father -in -law were supposedly killed by women’s cousins.

Sho Khan said that a first information report (FIR) was presented at the Rustam Police Station for the woman’s mother -in -law complaint, Nasim Bibi.

Bibi told the police that he was asleep at home when he heard someone’s sounds jumping home, which led her to leave her room.

“I saw the armed men, Abuzar and Bakhtiar, entering my daughter -in -law’s room, wife of Shahi Mulk, and indiscriminate open towards her. [They] He also shot my husband Sher Aman and fled the scene, ”he told the Police at the FIR.

According to the FIR, all the victims died instantly.

Bibi also declared in the FIR what he thought was the reason for the attack.

She said her son Shahi Mulk had married Safia Bibi through a court marriage, since her family was against her marriage.

He added that his daughter -in -law had been in contact with his son before marriage.

Rustam police have registered a case against Abuzar and Bakhtiar, residents of Spenkai and Rustam.

The FIR was lodged under sections 302 (premeditated murder), 311 (Ta’zir after the exemption or compound of the right of Qatl-I-amd), 34 (common intention) and 449 (house invaders to commit a punishable offense with death) of the Pakistan Criminal Code and the Raids are underway to detain the alleged suspects.

Cases of honor murders prevail in Pakistan. From January to November of last year, a total of 346 people were victims of “honor” crimes in the country.

The previous two years also saw a constant increase in murders related to the so -called ‘honor’.

In 2023, the country saw a total of 490 incidents of murder of ‘Honor’, while in 2022, up to 590 people lost their lives to ‘honor’ the murders.

In December, Amina Bibi, a mother of three children, was shot dead by her brother, Zafar Hussain, in the Pakpattan Qasimpur area. Hussain told the Police that he thought his sister had a “questionable character.”

In November, a five -year -old mother was brutally murdered in Faisalabad by her husband and younger brother, supposedly to protect the family’s “honor.” Accused of having an adventure, the victim was attacked at home with bricks, which caused fatal injuries. Later, his body was thrown into a Nullah through a donkey car.

A man murdered four women in his family in October, including his mother, in an attack of anger about his Tiktok videos. He told the police that the videos spread “immodesty and shamelessness, tarnishing the reputation of the family.”
