IFS official Nidhi Tewari He has been appointed private secretary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to an order from the Ministry of Personnel.
A 2014 Lot IFS officer currently serves as deputy secretary at the Prime Minister’s office (PMO). His appointment was approved by the Cabinet Appointments Committee on a terminal base, according to the order dated March 29, the PTI news agency reported.
“The Cabinet Appointments Committee has approved the appointment of Mrs. Nidhi Tewari, IFS (2014) who currently serves as an attached secretary in the Prime Minister’s office as Private Secretary of the Prime Minister, at level 12 of the salary matrix with immediate effect, by co-termination or even the additional orders, which is previous.” The personnel and training order declared.
Who is Nidhi Tewari?
Nidhi Tewari comes from Mehmurganj in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, which is Modi’s parliamentary constituency since 2014.
Tewari joined the Indian foreign service (IFS) as part of the 2014 lot after ensuring range 96 in the UPSC civil services exam. Before entering civil services, she worked as a commissioner assistant (commercial tax) in Varanasi and prepared for UPSC exams while she was employed.
He joined the Prime Minister’s office (PMO) as a secretary in 2022 and has served as deputy secretary since January 2023. In the PMO, he worked in the ‘Foreigners and Security’ division, informing the National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.
He has also worked in the Disarmament Division and International Security Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
