Washington-La Casa Blanca has retired the nomination of former representative Dave Weldon, Republican of Fla., Whom President Donald Trump had chosen to serve as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, said a senior administration official.
The development occurred only a few hours before Weldon testified at his Senate confirmation audience for the paper.
