An armed man opened fire at Florida State University on Thursday, killing two people and hurting several others.
Police identified the alleged shooter as Phoenix Ikner, 20, son of the deputy of a Sheriff and a possible FSU student.

Where and when did the shooting happen?
The suspect left an orange Hummer and opened fire near the union of students at 11:50 am, police and witnesses said.
FSU police chief Jason Trumbower said the suspect shot several people before the officers could participate, neutralize and stop him.
Was there any victim?
At least two people have died, Trumbower said. Six others were injured, and at least five received treatment for gunshot wounds in hospitals, said the police chief.
None of the victims’ identities have been launched.
Who is the suspicious shooter?
Leon’s County Sheriff, Walt McNeil, identified the alleged gunman on Thursday as Phoenix Ikner, 20.
Ikner is the son of a sheriff’s deputy, McNeil said, and he is believed to be a FSU student.
He was a member of the Youth Advisory Council of the Sheriff’s Office of Leon County, which made it surprising that Ikner had access to weapons, McNeil said.
McKenzie Heeter, a young man in FSU who witnessed the shooting, described him as a “normal university type.”
The shooter was hospitalized with unspecified injuries, police said Thursday. Your condition was not provided.
Reid Seybold, an Ikner classmate, said they were together in a political discussion group when they attended Tallahassee State College. Seybold, the president of the group, said he had to ask Ikner not to return to the club due to his supremacist white opinions.
What kind of weapon was used?
The authorities said a weapon that belonged to the mother of the suspect in the scene was found.
It was a previous service weapon, which I had bought and owned, the authorities said.
Police said the suspect also had a shotgun with him, but could not confirm if it was used.
Is there a reason?
The police have not yet identified a reason.
“I don’t know why I would have done something like this,” said Seybold, the former classmate. “I don’t know where I would have come from, but surely I would like to find out.”
