Lorne Michaels has some great plans for “Saturday Night Live” season.
In an August interview with Puck News, the creator of “SNL” spoke about the future of the successful program, which has been in operation since 1975, and said he planned to shake the cast for the new season.
“I wanted people to return and be part of (the 50th season),” Michaels told The Outlet. “And that meant that there could not be such interruptions (for the cast), or anything that took the approach (the 50th season).”
Now, he confirmed that he feels “pressure to reinvent” after the 50th season.
“Yes, sure,” Michaels replied. “It will be announced in a week or so.”

Although Michaels has not yet confirmed the new cast of “SNL”, he told Puck that the cast shakes would be “announced in a week or so.”

Lorne Michaels created “Saturday Night Live”, and 50 years later, he said he is not over with the program. Before the anniversary special, many asked about Michaels’s future with the program.
In February, Michaels, 80, told New York Times: “I can be wrong. But I don’t think it’s over.”
In the August interview, Puck asked if he plans to give some additional responsibilities to some of his team’s members.
“That has already been happening last year or so,” he said. “More people are involved in elections and decisions. But I am not worried about the AI because AI cannot guess what I am going to do between 10 and 11 (on the exhibition nights) … because I have no idea!”
“There are many people in that room with many opinions. Obviously, I make the final decision. But it is not as if people did not let me know how strongly they feel,” he added.
