Ozzy Osbourne, who died in July at age 76, was honest with a tribute presentation full of stars on Sunday during the video Awards.
Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, Yungblud and Nuno Bettencourt of Aerosmith made a mixture of the success of Black Sabbath leader, including “Crazy Train”, “Changes” and “Mama, I’m Coming Home”.
The performance was presented by the son of Osbourne, Jack and several of his grandchildren, who shared a video message to VMA’s viewers about his beloved family member.
“Be sure that I would do it incredibly happy to see these great musicians continue their legacy and help inspire the next generation of rockers,” said Jack Osbourne.
“In our dad’s words, ‘Let’s Go Crazy’,” the grandchildren added, referring to their popular song “Crazy Train”.
Later in his career, Osbourne became a fixed element in MTV, which is also the home of the VMA. The reality show “The Osbournes”, which followed his family, went to the network from 2002 to 2005.
The “Prince of Darkness” got a Hollywood star Walk of Fame in 2002.
Osbourne met with his original Black Sabbath, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, for their final show on July 5.
The performance of the meeting occurred only months after Sharon Osbourne revealed that her husband could not walk due to Parkinson’s disease.
The tribute of the VMA ended with the artists shouting in unison: “Ozzy forever, man.”
