The Brooklyn Anderson high school athlete was executing obstacles in an Athletics Championship in Eugene, Oregon, and seconds of the finish line when he stumbled.

Anderson told Oregonian that he trusted his gymnastics training at the Saturday event.
“I wasn’t sure how far everyone else was, so I knew that continuing to rolling, keep going, because I really wanted to arrive first,” said Thurson High School to The Outlet.
Anderson won the 100th class race of 100 obstacles in 14.93 seconds, The Outlet reported.
“He was very proud,” Anderson said about his victory. “Simply, very happy.”
