A child was rescued while walking alone on the track of a high trip In HersheyPark of Pennsylvania on Saturday in an incident that stops the video, distressing both viewers and social networks displays.
The video, which circulated online, shows the child on the track of the Bluecross capital monorraíl, a trip that offers an audio tour of the amusement park. Its track is elevated less than 20 feet from the ground.
The boy, who was reported as missing around 5 in the afternoon after separating from his parents, had entered the track of the trip, which was not in operation that day, said Hershey Entertainment & Resorts in a statement.
“While our team actively sought, the child entered a safe area for the Monorraíl,” said a company spokesman, adding that the trip “was closed and safeguarded by a chained closure at the entrance and the Torniquete on the platform.”
The staff immediately responded to the area after the child was seen on the tracks, said the spokesman.
In the video, some worried spectators were heard, while others tried to instruct the child how to leave the Monorraíl.
“Keep walking!” One of the spectators were heard telling the child while pointing to the left.
The child is seen walking to the left before some spectators are heard telling him to stop. The child then puts his hand on his head, apparently confused.
A good Samaritan with a green hat took the matter in his own hands uploading to the roof of a nearby structure and gesturing the child, according to the video. Then, the man threw himself into the Monorraíl and picked up the child to go and a round of applause from the spectators.
The boy was not damaged and met with his family about 20 minutes after he was reported as missing, according to Hershey Entertainment & Resorts.
“We are grateful for the surveillance of our guests and the rapid response of our team, and we are still committed to maintaining the highest levels of security for guests in all HersheyPark,” said the company.
