New Delhi: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has asked for the immediate intervention of the Ministry of Civil Aviation to address the issue of exorbitant air rates charged by airlines during the current Maha Kumbh In Prayagraj. The VHP spokesman, Vinod Bansal, expressed concern about the prices of the tickets that shot them, labeling them as “unfair and little ethical”, and demanded rapid action to guarantee fair prices for pilgrims.
According to Bansal, while the state government, together with several religious, social and services -oriented organizations, is providing broad support to guarantee the security, convenience and hospitality of devotees, certain aviation companies are exploiting the influx of Perjulous by increasing drastically air rates. He said that according to reports, normal class air rates have increased by 200% to 700%, leaving many pilgrims who cannot pay flights or safe alternative travel options due to the high demand for trains tickets.
“In such a scenario, airlines should focus on limiting their rates, expanding services and prioritizing the convenience of passengers,” said Bansal, “this occasion requires hospitality, dedication and respectful service, not unfair through inflated air rates.”
VHP praised Indian Railways for their efforts to increase trains services and maintain reasonable ticket prices, but criticized airlines for not acting in a responsible manner. With only one remaining month for Maha Kumbh, Bansal emphasized that airlines should prioritize exemplary hospitality and passenger satisfaction on short -term profits.
The VHP has urged the Ministry of Civil Aviation, along with other relevant authorities, to take strict measures if airlines do not voluntarily reduce rates and address the inconveniences caused to pilgrims. “Competition between airlines should not be tried to increase rates, but to reduce them and improve services,” he added.
VHP has labeled with the organisms and officials of the key government, including the Ministry of Civil Aviation (@Moca_goi), Minister Jyotyraditya Scindia (@JM_Scindia) and the Office of the Prime Minister (@Pmoindia), urging his immediate attention to the matter.
