A Utah nurse is accused of killing a friend who had convinced that she was sick of cancer so that the nurse could collect women’s life insurance policy.
Kacee Lyn Terry, 38, died on August 15, three days after the Lone Peak police and the firefighters rushed home in highland and found her “unconscious and struggling to breathe”, according to a sworn statement of probable cause in the case.
Meggan Randall Sundwall, 47, was arrested Thursday for aggravated murder positions and obstruction of justice in the death of her friend.
It was discovered that Terry had died of an insulin overdose and sedative promising, the forensic doctor ruled.
But she was not diabetic. His blood sugar level had reached 14, police said; A level of 40 is considered dangerously low.
Sundwall, a licensed nurse, knew that giving insulin to a non -diabetic would kill Terry, the sworn statement alleged.
Sundwall is accused of participating in a one -year plot to convince Terry that he had cancer and let Sundwall La Medara, declared the police document.
The evidence showed that Sundwall was having money problems and wanted to take advantage of a “life insurance policy of $ 1.5 million in Kacee” who believed he was the beneficiary of the affidavit.
According to the Affidavit, more than 28,000 text messages from December 2019 between Terry and Sundwall showed that she “believed that Kacee was very sick.”
Text messages detailed the ways in which Sundwall could “help” Terry to die and also argued “Meggan’s money problems that Kacee Dying and Meggan received their life insurance payment,” said the judicial document.
The day the first to respond arrived at Terry’s house, Sundwall had sent the victim a text message at 9:47 am asking: “Do you want to take some promising when you get there so you are asleep when this happens?” The police said.
The suspect and the victim were alone in Terry’s house from 10 am to 9 pm, police said.
Terry’s uncle, Mark Farnsworth, called 911 after he found his niece in his house on August 12 with Sundwall, who said “that Kacee had a DNR and that he did not want to go to the hospital,” said the affidavit.
Uncle told the police that Terry had “big and important health problems.” In the hospital, the victim’s sisters said Terry “had terminal cancer for 4-5 years, but had been doing better,” according to the affidavit.
But in reality, Terry was perfectly well and “had no cancer or health problems,” said the affidavit.
Sundwall was arrested in the Utah County prison as of Friday. It was not clear if he had hired or assigned a criminal defense lawyer.
There was no response on the landwalk phone or her husband’s cell phone.
The Affidavit did not mention any proof that Terry had taken a life insurance policy with Sundwall as a beneficiary.
“A DNR was never found and there was no paperwork designated by Meggan’s notarial power,” said the affidavit.
